I love to cook, but I'm not much of a baker, however last night I had a sudden interest in making, perhaps the most easiest dessert to make; Bread Pudding, and I failed miserably!
EASY BREAD PUDDING (key word "Easy")
3 eggs, beaten
3 c. milk
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. sugar
4 slices bread, cubed
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Mix all ingredients together. Pour into baking dish and bake in moderate 350 degree oven for about an hour or until knife inserted in the side comes out clean.
Now how hard of a recipe is that to follow? I baked the thing for an hour at first and it was still mushy, I put it back into the oven for another 20 minutes..I did the knife check again, and it did not come back clean...threw it back in the oven...2 hours later, I was done! I took it out of the oven, and left it on my stove! I took a bite, flavor was good, but it was still mush! Blah, I gave up and threw the damn thing away!
I really don't know where I went wrong...oh well..I guess I'll have to give it another try some other time, but definitely not in the near future!
Feel much better now ::sigh::

"One night in 1937, Bob Cobb, then owner of The Brown Derby, prowled hungrily in his restaurant's kitchen for a snack. Opening the huge refrigerator, he pulled out this and that: a head of lettuce, an avocado, some romaine, watercress, tomatoes, some cold breast of chicken, a hard-boiled egg, chives, cheese and some old-fashioned French dressing. He started chopping. Added some crisp bacon -- swiped from a busy chef.
"The Cobb salad was born. It was so good, Sid Grauman (Grauman's Chinese Theatre), who was with Cobb that midnight, asked the next day for a 'Cobb Salad.' It was so good that it was put on the menu.
"Cobb's midnight invention became an overnight sensation with Derby customers, people like movie mogul Jack Warner, who regularly dispatched his chauffeur to pick up a carton of the mouth-watering salad."
So there you have it, the birth of a yummy salad and guess what?? I found the original recipe on how to replicate the original Cobb! yay! I must warn you though, the Cobb is not for you calorie counters out there, It's got a whopping average of 757 calories and has been criticized by the Doctors Hospital for being 'unhealthy' when compared to other salads...gee I wonder why?! lol
Anyway if you're a fan of the Cobb as I am, I've posted the recipe :)

The Changeling is based on a true story set in Los Angeles 1928 about a mother whose 9 year old child goes missing. After a few months she is notified by the LAPD that her son has been found but when she if finally reunited with her son, she realizes that the kid is an imposter.
This is where everything starts to unfold...the story touches not only on the kidnapping of a woman's child, but thanks to this incident, it led to the unravelling of the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders, a kidnapping and murder case uncovered in 1928. Changeling also explores themes such as feminine disempowerment, like throwing women into the looney bin just because you didn't 'bow down to the man' and corruption with the LAPD..lol like that's changed since then right? :D
But anyway, if you get a chance, grab yourself a copy and watch it..

Hello? Moz fans out there? Tell me..what do you think of Years of Refusal, and what are your favorite tracks? Come on, lay it on me ;)
I look at you now and think back how 10 months ago, you were so tiny and quiet, now you're 28 inches long, and 16 lbs heavier! You say 'mama' and 'papa', talk in your sleep, object when something is taken away from you,and your newest accomplishment, being able to wave 'bye bye'...amazing!
People don't lie when they say that children grow up fast, I'm seeing it right before my eyes... and it's true when they tell you to appreciate every moment you have with your children, because one day they are babies and the next they are all grown up..I can't even fathom you being all grown up right now, we still have some time until I have to warn you about boys and such..but for now I'll continue embracing every second I have with you!
